RANT INCOMING

Kinja'd!!!

So, if you know me, you know I'm into RC airplanes and shit.

Well, this afternoon has been a shitstorm. Murphy's law was like 'oh, you want to enjoy this beautiful tuesday? WELL YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF!"

I have this quadrotor I just finished building. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It's nice out, so I figured I'd go figure out how to set it up, something I failed at recently

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So I need to charge batteries. I use a parallel board to charge multiple batteries at once. Like so:

Kinja'd!!!

I got one of these a long time ago to use with my charger, and it was starting to not work. So I had just bought a new one, along with connectors (which cost ~$1 a piece, and I needed to use 6). This was my third time using it.

I go to plug in my battery and mess up a connection. Sparks fly, half the board is dead. Fuck.

Fucks up the battery connector. That's dead. So I go to use the other half of the board, and as I get ready to plug in another battery the wire pops off the connector on the battery. So now I have 2 batteries that need new connectors...

I finally charge my 3 batteries, go to the park, and start flying. I get the settings figured out on the quad, I'm starting to put it through its paces. Onto my next battery, now it's really flying...aaaand I put it in the ground.

Arms snap on the front. Honestly, it's crap design. The wood arms split right down the freaking grain, and I knew it would happen. Easy fix, but I'll probably buy a new not retarded wooden frame.

So if we're keeping count I'm out a balance board (~$15-20, will replace with one with fuses for ~$30), two battery connectors (will cost like $3 each to fix because replacement balance connectors don't exist), and a quadrotor frame ($60 frame, will replace with a cheaper one probably)

It doesn't fucking stop there!

Now I go home, eat some Jimmy Johns (yay bread!), and get set to solder another battery connector that had gone bad. I tried to not just cut the wires, so I was trying to poke the plugs out of the housing with a screwdriver. Got 2 out no problem, then I slipped and STABBED MY FUCKING THUMB!

It hurt like a MOTHER EFFER. Finally got the battery soldered up, and now I'm here ranting.

It's been a shitty afternoon. At least I can eat bread again. I may go for a drive to relax...

I am going to I think. Gotta burn off the regular gas to fill it with premium for Autocross this weekend.

Suddenly buying one of those dji phantom things doesn't seem so bad.

This cost half as much. And a new frame will be cheap and easy.
